FINDING THE INTI is a supernatural/fantasy short directed by Mariel Sosa and shot on location in California. Finding the Inti was shot on 16mm film and most of the vfx centers around a supernatural flower(the Inti) that is featured prominently throughout the film.

I was involved from the early stages of post production in crafting the look and behavior of the inti on variety of shots. The cgi flower model was progressively modeled and refined over a couple of months using reference images and concept art.
A stand-in light stick was used to represent the flower on set which cast a light on the actors and the environment and allowed for the cgi flower to be composited properly with all the right reflections and light interactions.
The cgi flower was composited on to 16mm Kodak film footage which proved to be quite a challenge as this was my first time working with film footage and dealing with it’s accompanying challenges like managing the color space, simulating the grain and other film properties.
